Today I had a brand new experience, as I did my first shift at The War And Peace Show in Folkestone. This event celebrates and commemorates various wars that we have gone through with different stalls, cars and tanks. People seem to throw themselves into the era that they are most interested in, with various soldiers and 60s ladies walking the grounds - it's wonderful to see.
I was in charge of a bar on my own for a few hours which is crazy for me. This is the first time that I have worked a bar, so to have one to myself was an experience - but a good thing to do and to put on my CV. I actually enjoyed pulling pints and serving customers today, so hopefully tomorrow will be the same level too. It is supposed to rain though so it is unsure as to whether as many people will visit, or if they will just hide from the weather in the bars. It was interesting to do something different to my normal job where I don't get face to face contact with my customers, but then it did mean I had to focus more on my appearance which isn't usually like me! Oh well, just one more day then back to the call centre.
